A new shoe technology is called Lechal (“take me there” in Hindi)
It is interactive, vibrating footwear ( wearable technology or techy wear) that helps users find directions.Destination in the Lechal app will be introduced using Google Maps or another navigation app. If you have smartphone then connects via Bluetooth with a small module in the back of each shoe, near the heels. Right or left module will vibrate when users have to take a turn, pointing them in the correct direction.
Lechal told: “will be very helpful to people who are visually impared by providing a vibrating sense used in shoes. Also partnered with doctors from the LV Prasad Eye Institute in India to run clinical trials.”
Nelson reports that the first orders will be shipped in March 2015.
